Clearing the Driveway

tree_1This morning there were 13 inches of snow on the ground and more was falling when something else fell, too. A neighbor’s pine tree – laden with snow and ice – came down across our driveway. David and I spent a good part of the day clearing the driveway for a third time since Sunday, this time of the tree. By the time we were well into it, though, the temperature rose above freezing. All around were the sounds of – other than that of the chainsaw – chunks of snow falling from limbs. A tree_2welcome sign of the predicted warming trend. What was forecast as the biggest storm in 5 years is now said to be the biggest in 60 years. I really don’t want to shovel the snow off the dirveway again. Maybe I’ll let the rain take it away.tree_3
