Fear of Writing

I love to write. I like the creative process and the self-expression writing permits. I?ve done a lot of writing over the years and have a small body of work to show for my effort.

Yet I fear writing too. This fear is powerful. I’ve tried, but I can’t quite pin down what all the fuss and fear is about. Except that, maybe, I don’t have anything of real value to say. And that whatever opinions I express will be either rejected or indefensible. Looking at these words, now that they’ve become readable, I seem to have pinned the problem nicely. Pinned or not, I am so often left wordless at the end of the day. Another blank page.

Enough.

These are my objectives for this blog:

  • Overcome the fear of writing by forcing myself to write regularly, not within the private pages of a journal, but in the wild digital yonder where anyone who wishes to can read my thoughts
  • Present material that is meaningful to others
  • Do this within the context of the Four Noble Truths
